We provide first-class medium to long term accommodation with a home-style touch in sunny Nelson.

Quiet, clean and safe, The Bush Inn has a friendly atmosphere and is within walking distance to everything you might need.

The Bush Inn is the perfect choice for students and we are a preferred supplier of NMIT student accommodation and Nelson English Centre student accommodation.

The Bush Inn is also a great first base for workers on secondment or those relocating to Nelson because of our great central location and all inclusive facilities.

How are we different to Homestay?

  • at The Bush Inn you can cook your own food, the way you like it
  • we have 20 residents from a range of countries, so its easy to make 19 new friends
  • you can come and go at any time of day

How are we different to Campus Living?

  • we are not right on the NMIT campus which means you aren't living and studying in the same place.
  • we provide housekeepers to keep the Bush Inn clean and tidy
  • we provide fresh commercially laundered linen each week
  • there is no extra charge for Power
  • washing machines are Free to use and we have outside clotheslines
  • WIFI is Free

How are we different to renting a House/Flatting ?

  • Power, WIFI internet and Water is included in our weekly rate (no extra charges)
  • our rooms are fully furnished so you dont need to buy your own furniture or appliances
  • we provide housekeepers to keep the Bush Inn clean and tidy
  • we provide fresh commercially laundered linen each week

Free Wireless Internet (WiFi)

You can access the Free WIFI in your private room or in the shared dining area and lounge.

Fully furnished

Guest rooms are fully furnished with comfy bed, bedside cabinet, study desk and chair. All the bed linen & towels are provided and commercially laundered. If you have a favourite pillow or duvet you are welcome to use your own linen instead.

Housekeeping Service

Our housekeeping staff are onsite every day to  keep The Bush Inn clean and tidy for the residents. We service the Guest bedrooms and change the bed linen and towels once a week.

Laundry

Guests can do their laundry onsite in the separate laundry room. Two large washing machines are free to use (just bring your own washing powder). There is also a coin operated clothes dryer, ironing board and iron plus a sink for washing muddy boots and a benchtop area for folding clothes.

Clothes lines outside mean you can make the most of our sunny weather to dry your clothes.

Great kitchen facilities

If you love to cook then you will love our fully equipped kitchen. We provide everything you need to prepare your favourite meals. (You just need to buy your food!)

The kitchen has four electric ovens with cooktops and range hoods, three fridges and freezers with space allocated to each room. Each room is also allocated a seperate pantry cupboard.  All cooking and cleaning equipment (pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, storage containers and glassware) is provided.

Even cleaning up is easy -we have two dishwashers as well as 2 large sinks.

Meet new people

We are lucky to have a great mix of guests staying at The Bush Inn from all over the world and many parts of New Zealand.  The open plan lounge and dining room and sunny courtyard - are great places to meet and  socialise. With a total of 16 Guest rooms you are sure to find someone to chat to and enjoy a good laugh with.

Bike storage and free off street parking

Nelson is really easy to get about on a Bike and we have a great undercover Bike Storage area where you can lock your Bike up.

If you have a car The Bush Inn has off street parking available as well as parking on Grove Street in front of the Building.
